What is SureSmile?

SureSmile is a method for aligning your teeth similar to Invisalign. SureSmile uses a custom set of clear aligners that you wear throughout the day and while you sleep at night. Our patients love how natural these trays look in their smiles!

The aligners are not permanently placed, so you can remove them to brush your teeth and eat like normal. However, it’s essential to wear your aligners as often as possible so they can work around the clock to straighten your smile.

Is SureSmile as effective as traditional orthodontic treatment?

Yes, SureSmile is just as effective as traditional braces in giving you a straight, beautiful smile. It can even give you faster results!

Metal braces take an average of 24 months to complete alignment. Another type of clear aligner called Invisalign can take around 12 months straightening teeth. SureSmile is faster than both, only taking about nine months to give you a straight smile!

How Your Custom Trays are Made

Your dentist takes a 3-D scan of your teeth during your first appointment. This scan will create a digital model of your teeth, which will be used to create your customized aligners. Your dentist will also design your orthodontics treatment plan and tell you how many aligners you need. When you receive your aligners, you will wear them 22 hours per day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often will I visit the dentists’ office?

You will probably schedule an appointment to visit our office every 4-6 weeks. We will ensure that your aligners work effectively to gently and gradually move your teeth into the correct position.

All orthodontic care to straighten teeth requires an appointment schedule for regular follow-ups.

Is SureSmile uncomfortable?

Patients often praise SureSmile for being more comfortable than traditional braces made of metal wires and brackets. If the metal breaks in your mouth, it can leave sharp edges that poke or irritate your mouth and gums.

SureSmile, on the other hand, is made of durable transparent plastic. And since it is removable, you can eat what you want without damage. Unfortunately, braces require you to avoid certain foods.

Can I eat while wearing SureSmile?

It’s best not to wear SureSmile while eating. Some food or drinks, like hot coffee or soup, could damage them, and you want to protect them from stains and retain their fit.

There is one exception! You can leave them in to drink plain, unflavored, non-sugared cool water.

Remember that it is best to brush your teeth any time you eat before replacing the aligners in your mouth. You want to keep food from becoming trapped in them, leading to tooth decay.

How much does SureSmile cost?

The average price for SureSmile patients is $4,000. However, depending on the length of your treatment plan, it could be more or less expensive. Many insurance plans offer some coverage for a portion of the treatment. Our team can arrange payment plans for services not covered by insurance. Our dental team will discuss options for payment during your consultation.

Will my dental insurance cover SureSmile?

Call your insurance company or contact your employee benefits manager to discover whether you have coverage for orthodontic care. Just like traditional braces, many programs cover SureSmile. In addition, sometimes health plans cover orthodontic treatment, so check both health and dental plans.

Our team will also help you determine what orthodontics coverage your plans offer.
