Here at Essenmacher Family Dental, we know that many patients feel anxiety about coming to the dentist due to the fear of having to get a dental injection. That’s why we have invested in two of the latest technologies to reduce or totally eliminate the pain with a dental injection. These two technologies are called the Wand and the Dental Vibe.
The Wand
The Wand is a computer assisted anesthesia system. The Wand controls the flow rate and pressure of the anesthetic during the injection, making it more comfortable than traditional methods. The system also allows us to numb a single tooth in isolation, rather than numbing an entire area, so you don’t get a numb lip and face!
The DentalVibe
The DentalVibe is a tool that vibrates gently at the site of injection. This stimulation blocks the pain signals to your brain, so you feel less discomfort from the dental injection. The vibration also helps disperse the anesthetic more quickly, causing the anesthetic to kick in faster. It’s especially great for children, who often are so focused on the sound and feeling of the vibrations that they don’t feel the injection at all!
